This special edition of Pride and Prejudice includes the wonderful illustrations by C. E. Brock that follow the story line.
Charles Bingley, a wealthy young bachelor, moves in to a new neighborhood and immediately impresses the young ladies around him. His proud and condescending friend Fitzwilliam Darcy, however, gives the ladies a less favorable impression. While Mr. Bingley charms a young woman named Jane Bennett, Mr. Darcy on the other hand slights her sister Elizabeth with an offensive comment. Elizabeth begins to resent him.
The Bennett sisters and their friends continue to have other gentleman callers as well as be involved with the affairs of the society around them. Meanwhile, Elizabeth keeps hearing negative news about Mr. Darcy, which causes her to dislike him even more.
Will Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy finally swallow their pride and set aside their prejudice towards each other, and realize that their relationship can grow into something greater than their petty rivalry?
