This covers how during my nineteen years as an expat, I obtained a married status contract in Turkey. This was my best ever contract, with the location I worked and lived in fantastic. As a result, we bought some land and had a house built. Although intended more as a summer vacation house, we decided to uproot ourselves from England and live in Turkey. Our house down on the Mediterranean Coast, surrounded by trees and open views of the nearly Taurus Mountains made a pleasure of living there. Drawing back the curtains each morning and looking out at the beautiful mountain views, made us feel good to be alive. Life in Turkey with blue skies for over 300 days per year and no pollution made for a great life. However, like in any country, many incidents both good and bad occurred, which I have mentioned in my book. Readers will also discover various items of interest to those both living and thinking of living in Turkey. By taking notice, you could save you both money and heartache.
After living here for over twenty years, I can only say that Turkish people are both friendly and helpful. It is mainly thanks to them that I still live here, although no longer in my house in the country, as I now live in Istanbul.
