Jerrik grew up hearing stories about the evil Bastelluda that hunted their long ago ancestors and the mysterious fire guardian who saved them. Everyone dismissed them as faery tales then the monster returned.

Frantic to save his little sister from the demon attacks, Jerrik sets out from the village to search for the fire guardian and beg its help. His best friend, Red, thinks it's a waste of time, but she tags along because someone has to keep Jerrik out of trouble.

But there's more to worry about in the forest than the Bastelluda. A shadow grows as they try to solve a centuries-old mystery.
