I love the different seasons of the year. Fall is by far my favorite. I love the cooler weather, the colors of the leaves, and the smell of harvest in the fields.
Families gather around campfires and bonfires and roast marshmallows and hot dogs. We gather together to give thanks in November, and then Christmas is just around the corner.
I remember the smell of burning leaves in the driveway and in the ditch. We had a lot of trees in our yard out in the country when I was growing up. We had to manually rake our leaves every other day or so. We always jumped in the huge piles we would build and then we would set the piles of leaves on fire. I can smell it like it was yesterday.
I hope you enjoy reading this story to the children in your life.
