The second section of Gita begins from this chapter, and the emphasis is on understanding Ishvara - the manifested God. Krishna explains to Arjuna both the transcendental as well as the immanent aspects of Himself as Ishvara. He describes the manifestations as His lower and higher nature (Prakriti).
This chapter also focuses on bhakti yoga - the yoga of devotion. Krishna discusses several forms of devotion and teaches Arjuna the highest form of devotion, which leads to the union with Brahman.
