In the heart of a storm a house burns.

Of all the witnesses who stood out in the storm not one had seen anything that could help. After a personal promise to bring those responsible to justice, PC Christian is taken on a journey that takes him far from his routine into a hidden underworld he didn't know existed.

Along the way his investigation takes him on an earth shattering ride where an old woman opens his eyes and a young woman explodes his perceptions as he learns what he will have to risk, what he will have to do to keep his promise.
