Over the past year, Bollywood has given us not one, but many reasons for a firm dislike. Allegations of toxicity, debauchery and abetment to suicide have drawn strong reactions against the Hindi film industry on social media and triggered hashtags like 'Boycott Bollywood'.
Bollywood is a great source of entertainment but it is also to be remembered that besides providing entertainment it has a large impact on our society. A majority of the Indian public idolise Bollywood actor's personal lives and aspire to achieve the same lifestyle as them. Although, in recent months, we have seen the entire Bollywood Nexus involved in drug trafficking, which is really shameful. People who are being idealised are into bad habits and illegal activities that are forbidden by law, not only tarnishing the involved person's name, but also the industry as a whole.
