Synopsis:
Horatio Alger, Jr. (1832 1899) was a prolific American author of the 19-th century. His writings were characterized by the "rags-to-riches" narrative, which had a formative effect on America during the Gilded Age. Alger best known for his many juvenile novels about impoverished boys and their rise from humble backgrounds to lives of middle-class security and comfort through hard work, determination, courage, and honesty.
'Brave And Bold' is a book by Horatio Alger, and a bright example of his writing style. As in many other books by Alger, the central character of the story is a poor boy. Robert Rushton's father has dissapeared so now he is in charge of the family and he must work hard at a factory to earn for their living. One day he gets in a quarrel with the factory superintendant's son, and of course the poor boy is blamed for and fired. The boy now doesn't have a job and he finds himself at a brink of despair, when suddenly he receives a letter from his father What's in there? Read this brillian story and you will know!
