Cheating Death

Coffee and blood. The start to Helen's second night with Quin and she thinks she knows what to expect.

The night before, the deaths of three vampires shocked the world of immortals. It's been four hundred years since the last vampiric death. Four hundred years since Wraith and Death's little spat, and it seems the pair are destined to butt heads once more, with Helen's city their battlegrounds.

The two vampires have been preparing for this for centuries, making their plans and readying their bodies and minds. They aren't the only ones who have been preparing, however.

From the shadows, she has been watching the events unfold. Biding her time, the Great Maker has witnessed it all, and she knows what's about to happen. She's been a silent witness to the Council's choices, decisions, and laws. She'd just like them all to know that she's pissed with them, and she's just as dangerous as the last time she walked the lands.
