Premiere will be on Broadway in fall of 2015 at the Shubert Theater starring Tony and Oscar Award-winning actor Al Pacino.
Mamet penned China Doll specifically for Pacino to star in it. Mamet and Pacino famously worked together previously for the movie adaptation of Glengarry Glen Ross as well as the 20th anniversary Broadway production of the same play.
Pacino himself describes the role as "one of the most daunting and challenging roles I've been given to explore onstage" (Wall Street Journal).

In 1997, Mamet's screenplay for Barry Levinson's political satire Wag the Dog earned him both Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for Best Screenplay.
