When a school friend dies and social media are somehow connected, 15-year-olds Andrew Warden and Jia Chen end up in the position of investigating what really happened to young social media star Emma van Amideme. It's not as straight-forward as it seems at first glance.
What they learn is a disturbing story of how social media is a honey-trap, designed from the roots on up to lure people in and hold them fast - and that's even without any cyber-bullying lurking there. Every tool can be useful for its purpose, but it can also be a dangerous weapon, and in learning the truth of this, Jia and Andrew find themselves searching for ways to help people avoid the worst of this popular beachhead that can also harbor quicksand.
