Every year in Almaty, young writers gather at the StudyRoom Language Center to take part in a very special writing competition. They are given one hour to write a completely original short story based on four secret photos. A panel of judges then chooses the winning writers, who take part in special workshops and masterclasses to further develop their writing skills. These are their stories.
