What transpired over the course of time there went beyond anything he could have ever foreseen and as a result his life went in directions he didn't anticipate. Evolving as a man, Bret took steps caused by strange circumstances, but ones that proved fortuitous on many levels for him personally and eventually for the entire Federation.
