Before puberty, our gut brain, Inner Child and Conception Vessel predominate in our psyche so they can develop. Conscious Waking Self is weaker before puberty. Prior to puberty our developmental task is build Self-esteem.
Once our gut-brain has gained stability and matured, after puberty, in the majority of school-educated persons, our head-cerebral brain and Governing Vessel takes over as our locus of control in our waking psyche. Now our basic self, our gut brain, is our weaker partner.
After puberty our prime developmental task is developing healthy Self-concept.
Self-esteem + Self-concept = Self-confidence.
The change-over of locus of control in our psyche, at puberty, is the centerpiece of developing into a healthy adult.
