Jataka tales are ancient folk tales originating in India.Ellen C.Babbitt compiles and repeats them in two volumes, The Jataka (1912) and the Other Jataka (1922) versions of Babbitt. It comes from a translation created by Professor E. B. Cowell, Professor of Sanskrit at the University of Cambridge, and his team between 1895 and 1907, some of the fables may have been later designated Aesop's fables.
