Jump for Joy When Your Dreams Come True

Looking back on the twists and turns of my life, I am often shocked and amazed at how I got to where I am today. To clarify that, I am shocked and amazed in a very good way. Sometimes, I still get butterflies in my stomach when I think about it. It's a very cool thing to be in a place where you can look back and pick out specific turning points, some obvious and some so subtle, that have cleared a path or taught a much needed lesson. There is no doubt that this happens to all of us. That said, you also need to be conscious of your thoughts and what is going on around you, or you just might miss the signs. Often, they come in hindsight, but sometimes you can recognize a lesson while it's occurring - maybe just in time to pay attention to the message even as it's happening. Having always been somewhat of an optimist with just a hint of realism, I tend to see the good in people and the opportunity in most situations. I am inspired and impressed by those who blaze a new trail or set their own path rather than following the crowd. I am saddened and disappointed when people spend time complaining about their past or present situations. I think they should simply change their mind. Some might say it's easier said than done. Well, not really, but the message is still clear. Change your mind, forget about the stuff that doesn't serve you and move on. So much of my good fortune has come from a simple daydream, and that's where I'll start. The pieces all link together like an intricate spider web going back to lessons from a long, long time ago. Actually, there was a specific daydream on one Christmas Eve that I recognized as being extra special and has led me here to where I am writing a book, something I said out loud more than 20 years ago that I would do someday. I want you to find joy as you read these pages, and I want you to find joy every day in your life.That is my wish,and the most important message in this book. Joy is everywhere when we take a moment to notice. It is a feeling, yes - the one that gives you butterflies and makes you smile for no reason while you're walking down the street.
