Labyrinth was written in 1923, by lesbian feminist author Helen R. Hull. She was a novelist, short story writer, and English professor, as well as being active in politics.
Labyrinth features a stay-at-home mother named Catherine, who struggles with balancing her career, and her marriage. Being at home is intensely lonely, and she yearns for more. When she finally gets work outside of the home, Catherine must deal with being away from her children, even as one of them falls ill. It is an fascinating work of women's fiction, delving into Catherine's personal life, as it dips into many topics such as race, and gender issues. The book is nearly a century old, and is still relevant today.
