This book aims to help you see the same way as Leonardo has seen. Leonardo's secrets are not in his words, they are in his works. Look at his paintings in details, the lines, the light, the shadows, the composition, the contrasts, the details. His paintings tell us what we cannot see but need to know and that should be enough. The goal of this book is to make the art of Leonardo more accessible to everyone. There are so many theories about the Leonardo's techniques but the book will show you how to get close to his art in number of ways. Fifteen works are generally attributed to him, most of them paintings on panel but including a mural, a large drawing on paper and two works in the early stages of preparation. Nevertheless, these few works together with his notebooks, which contain drawings, scientific diagrams, and his thoughts on the nature of painting, comprise a contribution to later generations of artists rivaled only by that of his contemporary, Michelangelo.
