Dr. T. D. Singh (1937-2006) is both a scientist with a Ph.D. in Physical Organic Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine, USA and a spiritualist in the Bhaktivedanta tradition of India. He had several dialogues on 'life' with some of the most brilliant scientists and scholars of our time Werner Arber, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, University of Basel, Switzerland; John Eccles, Neuroscientist and Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, State University of New York; George Wald, biologist and Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine from Harvard University; Paul Lauterbur, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, to name a few. He organized several seminars and international conferences, wrote books and inspired many students and scholars to undertake research on life and its origin. 'Life' was central to him. The last historic international conference that Dr. Singh organized was on life "Second International Congress on Life and its Origin Exploration from Science and Spiritual Traditions" in Rome, Italy.
