Playing alone one day, little Marcella comes across a doll in the corner of her grandmother's attic. Despite her old-fashioned clothes, red-yarn hair, and painted face, Raggedy Ann quickly becomes Marcella's favourite companion. But when no one is around, the toys come to life and go on all sorts of adventures. Whether it's rescuing the family dog from the pound, sneaking into the pantry to eat sweets, or accidentally going through the wringer on laundry day, Raggedy Ann always treats others kindly and helps those in need.
Written and illustrated by American cartoonist Johnny Gruelle, Raggedy Ann has become a cornerstone of children's literature. The iconic doll was designed by the author, and was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame in 2002.
