Sammy My Guardian Angel

Are there guardian angels?
It's a difficult concept to fathom.
The bible tells of the good angels of, God and the dark angels thrown out of heaven with Satan to live on earth. If they exist we can't see or hear them.
Then there's the Holy Spirit God sent to earth after the resurrection of Jesus. Could the Holy Spirit be a guardian angel? What exactly does a spirit do?
I don't think it's possible for one Holy Spirit to be a guardian angel for all the people on earth. There's got to be another answer. I don't know it. And, I don't understand this guardian angel thing, either. Take this example.
In 1993 I tell of an incident where I was T-boned in the middle of an intersection by a car traveling 60 mph. An outspoken, opinionated, crusty old fart like me should have died on the spot to make room for a new baby. Not only did I live through it, but I didn't have a scratch.
In 2018 a friend was in a similar accident. Her car was T-boned by a landscape truck. This woman was as beautiful and fragile as a butterfly. She volunteered her time tirelessly to help cancer patients. She never recovered from the accident and died the same day in the hospital.
Why does this happen? She gave her life to others and died. I would think she had a guardian angel for she was an angel herself. But instead, I went through a similar situation and lived. Do I have a guardian angel? If so, why?
Did she finish God's will on earth? Is there something I must do before I die? Is that why I have survived 20 near death and life altering incidents?
As I search for the answer I look into my childhood when it all began. And, for convenience, I'll let my guardian angel, Sammy, tell the story.
