Tru Evens is a Photography Studio owner who lives with her best friend Nia on a quiet beach in North Carolina. Her life isn't exciting but compared to the past that she tried to forget on a daily basis she is okay with the quiet life she leads. It all changes one night when she meets a guy at a beach party and agrees on a couple of dates with him. Things start to happen all around her. Things that make her feel uneasy. She starts receiving gifts, prank phone calls and notes from an unknown source and the feeling of someone watching her begins to feel all too real, bringing her past back to her in full circle.

When her brother Fin comes for a visit and she receives a disturbing gift he forces Tru to go to the Stalking Unit to file a complaint. Fin isn't going to take any chances this time around.

While dealing with the demons of the past and the present she meets Detective Jensen Carver, who is the cop in the Stalking Unit. While she finds him attractive, he can't help think that she reminds him of someone from his past that still haunts his everyday existence. He tried to just be the cop on duty but he can't stay away from her. They begin this push, pull relationship as the stalking escalates and he is called to her beach house frequently. The more he is called over, the more the attraction becomes.

The more she receives from her Stalker, the more she realizes who it is and she is forced to confront her past. Confront the past the she tried to forget, the past that left her with so many fears that it all becomes suffocating. The ins and outs of her past start trickling in her everyday life and she is forced to relive it all over again.

Who is stalking Tru Evans? And is it tied to her past somehow? And will Detective Jensen Carver be the one who saves her?

A story of a young woman trying to move on from a past that is full of painful memories only to have them thrown back at her years later, a woman who is trying to let go of what hurts and to find the strength in knowing that not every guy she meets is a monster.
