The revolving door to the Chelsea manager's office has seen more comings and goings than any other major football club down the years with over 30 incumbents since Ted Drake won the club's first major trophy in 1955. By unexpectedly winning that First Division title Chelsea took a huge leap forward and confirmed their arrival as a big club with title challenges and trophies into the early 1970s and, following a miserable period in the 70s and 80s, finally came of age in the Premier League era breaking their long wait for a trophy under Ruud Gullit before Roman Abramovich arrived to make the club the richest in the world.
