Phil Armitage is hopelessly in love with Norma Lee - and she with him. Unfortunately, the course of true love does not run smooth as Norma's father is reluctant to allow his daughter to marry the young man, deeming his modest fortune no match for the millions she will one day inherit. When Phil's friend and love rival, Abe Lamman,  tricks Phil in to losing even the little money he already has, Phil resorts to illegal means in order to respond in kind. Incensed, Lamman is determined to track Phil down and confront him with the full force of the law. Aiding him in this is master-detective Paul Beck. But Beck may have met his match. For helping Norma and Phil is their good friend - the equally able lady detective Dory Myrl.
