The Freedom of Home

Based on a true-life adventure! Sonny is a young, smart little parakeet with a gift for gab. While enjoying a ride on his mom's shoulder, he suddenly finds himself in new surroundings with a desire to spread his wings and find out what freedom is all about. He quickly discovers that he is in for a bigger adventure than he thought, after realizing that he is lost and his family is nowhere to be seen. On his journey he discovers that freedom may come with a cost and it could be more than he bargained for.

About the Author

Deborah Baney grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan and graduated with a Bachelors of Applied Arts at Central Michigan University. She later went on to receive a master's of Science in Technology at Arizona State University. She currently resides in Arizona with her family, 3 dogs and 1 cat. An animal lover her entire life, it seemed only natural to share Sonny's story to show that all God's creatures no matter how small, are not only intelligent, but can provide love and joy to people of all ages.

Angie Wyers grew up in Twin Lake, Michigan and received her Bachelors of Arts at Central Michigan University. She spent 12 years teaching illustration and is hopeful that her students, as well as her grandchildren will realize that they too can achieve what they set out to do.
