The PIT Questionnaire can be administered and collected through two different way:

DIRECT: the Questionnaire is introduced directly to people who are going to fill it and the introduction itself does not take less than 5 minutes and no more than 20 minutes. In this case the correct practise is:

  1. to descript the aim of the Questionnaire, that is the collection of informations about a
    certain theme or area;
  2. to reassure about the full respect of privacy and anonymity of Questionnaires. The signature and the name, that are requested at the end of the Questionnaire, are only a better garancy of the data's validity, but you can also do not give them, because analysis are statistic and they will be make by an I.S.P.E.F. collaborator who does not know who filled the Questionnaire. Moreover results will be classificated, given a sense and then published in a general and anonymous form;
  3. to decide and explain the handing in and collection's methods of Questionnaires, that can be make:
    -to the entire considered population directly by a single person (e.g. by a single teacher during a meeting of the Assembly of the parents or families). In this case we must train the person at the delivery and collection of Questionnaires;
    -in different groups, by a person who plays the role and functions of responsibility for that group (e.g. the morning at the entrance to the school or at the end of the day when they come to resume the child). In this case, the person must ensure impartiality in giving and receiving Questionnaires;
    -a whole population considered an outside person, specializing in the delivery and collection of Questionnaires. In this case it is important that the person is submitted and accepted by those identified compiles the Questionnaires;
    -using a tool that makes anonymous its delivery and collection (for example to take the Questionnaires placed on a bench directly to parents and have them deliver compiled in a safe or locked inside an envelope);
  4. to explain the method to fill the Questionnaire, reading the titles and the response mode with multiple-choice questions, explaining what it means "1" score and what it means "5" score (it often happens that people are confused about which of two numbers represent the highest level of the scale).

INDIRECT: when the Questionnaire is presented to persons who must deliver and collect it from others (for example, teachers need to present it to the families). In this case, an I.S.P.E.F. collaborator must give guidance on how submission of Questionnaires. The procedure the I.S.P.E.F. collaborator should follow is:

  1. explain the purpose of the Questionnaire to individuals who must deliver and collect it;

  2. deliver No. 2 copies of the Questionnaire at school: one for who must fill out the Questionnaire and one who remains on record, so that whatever happens (lost, damaged, etc.) remains a copy available. Photocopied Questionnaires should be numbered so that it can make a correspondence between date and copies those returned.

  3. provide the following directives in the distribution of Questionnaires:
    -decide the modalities of delivery of the Questionnaire (see point 3 of the DIRECT);
    -if it is not possible to complete the Questionnaire immediately, give a time limit within which the Questionnaire must be completed and returned;
    -deliver the Questionnaires to people who have to compile them and explain the purpose of gathering this type of information. If possible, read together and comment as written at the beginning of the Questionnaire.
