This book is the first in a series of five books which make up ''The Wild Edric Saga'' and follow the lives of an English nobleman and his family, who one thousand years ago dwelt in what had been the ancient Kingdom of 'Mercia,' (Now the English Midland county of Shropshire).
Edric Syllvaticus. Who was known by his countrymen as 'Wild Edric', was referred to in the famous Norman Doomsday book as 'Aedric the Savage,' married a lady named 'Godda' who was known as 'The Queen of the Fairy Folk' in a chronicle written in the 17th century, but as the word 'Fairy' did not enter into the English language until some 400 years after the time of Edric, I have taken it upon myself to alter her to become the Queen of the light Elves, as the words Elves, Goblins, Trolls ect were beings who Northern Europeans used to believe dwelt in the vast northern forests that covered the land in those days.
Edric and Godda had one son who was named 'Aelnoth.'
