123 English idioms. Volume 1.

This ebook is mainly for the readers who learn English as the second language. It is the first volume of the series titled: 123 English idioms and it contains 123 common English idioms with explanations in English along with a large number of 1230 sentences showing the context in which the idioms can be used. Each idiom is illustrated by 10 sentences so that the learner gets a better idea about the whole context in which the specific idiom can function. The idioms presented in the sentences are written in bold so that it is easier to spot them and focus on the surrounding words. The sentences often describe current situations in order to associate them with specific idioms and in consequence to remember the idioms better.
All the idioms are listed in alphabetical order and include such keywords as: account, accordance, accord, advantage, air, attention, bad, best, better, big, contention, chance, course, dead, fall, good, hard, high. Some keywords are used in more than one idiom e.g. bad, big, dead, good, hard, high. The spelling used in the ebook is mainly British but you can also come across American spelling. Thanks to it you can see some differences between these two languages.
