How he was raised and how he lived are not always the same as we all can existentially relate. Jan invites us to walk up close and personal as he comes to grips with his beliefs and realities of everyday life and most particularly the themes of sex, violence, love. Sometimes graphic. Vietnam's civil war is the main stage, hence the title, A Bloodied Tapestry.
Facing the absurdities of human behavior and his search for meaning is key to grasping his struggles.
An interesting story that is hard to put down as one chapter rolls like in a movie into the next.
