A Country Held Hostage

How many more presidents have to die for the Haitians to wake up? This work by Jean Bernard Revolus is more relevant today in the light of the recent assassination of the former Haitian President, Jovenel Moise, on July 7th, 2021.
Rampant corruption has reared its head in the way the investigation of this matter is being handled. Missing witnesses moved bodies, and death threats abound. But that isn't anything new; it's how things have worked in the country ever since
Haiti won its independence from France in 1804. Revolus has penned down more of an exposé than a book. In it, he doesn't spare the tender feelings of his Haitian brethren. He insists that change is essential if Haiti is to be restored to its former glory.
The Haitians are stuck in a rut, according to him, and a new mindset is the only way they can get out of it. Instead of viewing every foreign investor with suspicion, they must respect the investments, and work hard to help them succeed.
The average Haitian abhors change and derives a sort of comfort from the misery that surrounds them. That needs to change and very soon too. At the core of all of his harsh observations is a love felt deeply and patriotism that still flourishes.
This book could'nt have arrived at a better time. The time for change in Haiti is NOW!
