A Dance of Illusion

The Drakari call him their savior.

For 3,000 years, the pureblooded elven aristocrats of Imperial Arreth have subjugated their hybrid counterparts, caging their magick with suppressive devices, restraining them from the same rights as the purebloods, and forcing them to live in the slums of great imperial cities.

Twins Vivani and Valyn Tyrea have no intentions of perpetuating the gory cycle, but they both know that to destroy a tyrannical body, they must sever the head. Born of noble, elven blood and something other, the twins hide in plain sight. Valyn has his mind set on conquering the empire through charm and manipulation. Vivani has her heart set on saving her people somehow.

When the Drakari, a rebel group of drakkin hybrids, surge forward from the slums of the capital city of Cylad, Vivani and Valyn meet Kraven Crausya, a drakkin with connections to the rebel undergrounds. Through him, Vivani learns of the Serpent of Civel, a legend to the hybrids, and their proclaimed savior. He was thought to be long dead, but the whispers of the oppressed sing a different tale.

Once Vivani faces the Drakari's so-called savior, the illusion of her world is shattered. Unable to deny the truth, she must choose between all she has built over the years, or follow her heart and conscience.
