A Miracle Called Christiana is a story of hope for families with children with special needs. Having a child with special needs was not high on my list of life goals, but she became a life gift from our Heavenly Father. Christiana is a very special young lady to many in our family and in our community. I've had requests from friends to write her story. Her story is not complete, as she is still with us, but sharing her life to this point and especially through her medical crisis of 2008 has been heavy on my heart for many years.
No one who has a special child feels understood by those who do not have a special child in their lives. Each situation is unique, but we have all felt the isolation of not being understood. Having such a child is physically and emotionally isolating. It is my hope that this story will help them see that they are not alone, especially if they have a relationship with our Heavenly Father. Trusting Him makes all the difference.
Why would you want to read this book? I feel that God wants me to share our experiences with Christiana with you so that you can see that miracles still happen today. It is my hope that meeting her in the pages of her story will help you see God at work with ordinary people in today's world.
During her medical crisis, I kept in touch with friends and family by e-mail. I also kept a journal of my thoughts and feelings. I used both of these to reconstruct our experiences during that period of our lives.
