All the Seafood slurping genteel folk were flocking in like vultures to get their Oysters on the Half Shells or Whole Shells. He was as usual, on a never-ending quest to understand why. Every Friday, the Black-clad Fathers, wearing the collar of authority and spiritual superiority, came by. Along with the seafood, they tried the new spices he offered as condiments.
"WOW! Holy Mary! Mother of Jesus!"
They said these prayers and more while crossing the front of their chest. Barq thought the almost breathless swearing was ok because the Holy Ones had said it. And when the Black-Clad sisters came by, they too did some swearing and testifying. One of the Sisters came right out with a borderline blasphemy and a Lord's name in vain statement. Her voice well above high Cee was screaming a terrifying prayer
"Holy Mother-shucker, God be praised, up and down the coast".
She was panting as a dog would and could barely breathe. That Sister sounded strange, but again Barq thought the religious people were complimenting him about his work. And he noticed the burnt-out Sister pulled out a jug of vino to wash down the Muddies.
The old Mother of the bunch crossed herself twice, then made the taste test. That poor old Dear swooned right down to the ground. To much pleasure all at once, no doubt.
