Honore De Balzac (20 March 1799 18 August 1850) was a French novelist and playwright. He is one of the founder of literary realism in European literature. His work had an influence on many writers such as Marcel Proust, Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde, Henry James, Friedrich Engels and Karl Marx. "La Comédie humaine" (The Human Comedy) is a collection of Honore De Balzac works which are describing French society in the time of the Restoration and the July Monarchy.
