Annie cannot wait for her and boyfriend Mark's upcoming trip to Portofino. She's booked them a quaint Italian hotel in incredible surroundings, with the most stunning views over the harbour. It's the perfect couples' retreat and should be the perfect place for a proposal, which after two happy years together, Annie is hoping might happen.
But things start to go wrong from almost the moment of their arrival in Italy. After nightmare flight delays and a mix up with their luggage, Mark arrives at the hotel bad-tempered, and doesn't seem interested in their beautiful surroundings or indeed romance.
Annie hopes things will improve on their second day, but when the next morning over breakfast they bump into none other than Mark's ex girlfriend, the stunning Julia, things go from bad to worse.
