ABC - A Battle Of Cancer

Telling this story presents two possible outcomes.

Firstly, my sweet, late Amma would've killed me.

Out of love, she would've wanted me to 'safeguard my dignity', insisting that my health journey is a secret to keep. But there's another outcome to consider: the chance to offer hope and help to others.

Now, picture this: every night, you slip into bed, living the life you've always dreamed ofa loving husband, amazing kids, and a pretty awesome, well-paying job. Then, one day, you wake up to a living nightmarean insidious parasite gnawing deep inside you, blind to reason and hungry to invade. This sinister presence becomes your new reality, and darkness becomes you.

At the young age of 38, they told me I had ovarian cancer.

My vibrant life, once in full swing, came to an abrupt halt, hurling me into the blackness. I grappled with life-altering decisions, saw a changing body that made me hate the mirror, and confronted the brutal reality of chemotherapy. And amidst the blinding lights of social media and the sea of well-intentioned advice, the search for genuine support was a challenge.

Yet somehow, I made it to the other side.

I may not have all the answers.

But as a cancer survivor, I'm here with you.
