ANALYSIS : LET US DREAM

The Pope, much like the rest of us, has had an unusual year in retrospect. The restrictions and policies put in place to curb the spread of the virus has undoubtedly affected the activities of the church. The tens of thousands of people that would normally be gathered for the Easter Sunday Mass in St. Peter's Square were reduced to only but a few. In addition, the Pope was forced to give his speech in a near-empty St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, all through the Holy Week in April. He has also been very much aware of the social injustice and discrimination in the society. Pope Francis recognizes that in a time of difficulties like now, the catholic church and the world at large, is in dire need of univocal and prophetic spiritual guidance, and it is for this reason that his new book has been published.

"Let Us Dream", in its own way, is a response to the Covid-19 crisis, and the many challenges and factors that brought the society to its present state. In three distinct sections - A Time to See, A Time to Choose, and A Time to Act - Pope Francis seeks to inspire readers, as well as make them see the systems through his perspective of charity and benevolence.
