This is the story of an English archer indentured to Sir thomas Erpingham whose company was in turn indentured to the king Henry V for his campaign against the French in 1415
This is an archers story and follows him from his making of an English Longbow to the siege of Harfleur where disease took its toll and reduced the once proud army to a shadow of its self. The and then as the diseased English army try to escape the gatherng French armry as they seek to cross the river Somme and then head for the safety of Calais
Hungry and in low spirits and after having to go miles out of their way they manage to to find a crossing across the river Somme and as they journey northwards they find that their road to Calais is blocked by a large French army that is at least double their number. And so they have but one option and that is to fight at a place soon to be called Agincourt.
This is the story of John Base an archer.
