Stuck on base the night before a potentially fatal mission is no one's idea of a good time. That's why Manny, Jabari and Klara decide to make their own by breaking into the colonel's office and raid is stash of liquor. Better drunk than thinking about who might die the next day. Better to reach out to one another now, while they still have time, while they're still alive. Better passion and lust than despair.

Manny wasn't sure he wouldn't be bitter if the situation were turned around.

Afghanistan wasn't exactly the most happening place on earth. Opportunities to get laid didn't come around often. And, well, Klara was the hottest thing on the base. Not just because she was one of, like, ten women on the base either. She was smoking all around and would have been back home too. On top of that she was a geese monkey who cursed like a sailor and knew more about anime than anyone he'd ever met.

Every guy and probably most of the girls had jacked it to her. If he were thousands of miles away from home and a girl, he might feel a little bitter about his best friend getting the best there was to get.

"Hey," he whispered in Klara's ear as a thought occurred to him. One that probably wouldn't have been there is he wasn't drunk. "Maybe we should give him a consolation prize."

"What're you talking about?" Klara looked back at him questioningly but didn't stop his hand as it went into her tank top.

"How about we give him a show?" He grinned and kept on squeezing her breasts the way he knew she liked. If she was going to go for this, he needed to do some convincing. "How about we let him watch?"
