Brenda's life as she knew it was over. Her past and her demons had caught up with her and it was payback time. Not only that, there was interest to pay too.

Fact - Scientists are on the verge of discovering a new drug and process that could erase our worst long-term memories forever. The drug, closely related to MDMA or Ecstasy, works via a process called 'consolidation' or a restructuring of neural connections. The drug targets a protein called PKMzeta which it blocks selectively so that the memory, or the trauma, or the bad-times are erased forever. But they are not quite there yet. When it happens, it will need to be guarded as closely as any secret weapon, such could its power be in the wrong hands. Of course, if this drug and process had existed all those years ago, or before Brenda had come across Judy maybe, just maybe her demons would have been erased and maybe she would have been saved from her fate. On the other hand this drug could have been used by Judy, to erase all of the good memories, leaving just the bad ones and thus opening up a new line and a deeper channel of sadism for her. Whatever, even such knowledge of what the future might hold chills to the bone. Judy has power and a network of connections that reek of perversions beyond normal comprehension.

Brenda, born into a nightmare, then escaping that nightmare only for her to be sucked right back in to a deeper and more intense pit of despair. This isn't so much her 'story', its her endless plight.
