Adjusting to Hope

The Hope Serum was created to combat the extinction of the human race, which was overcome with widespread infertility due to the effects of long-term pollution. The hope was that the serum would extend the life span of the recipients long enough for them to find a cure for the infertility. The scientists succeeded in their goals, but they also discovered that the recipients were starting to exhibit extraordinary abilities.

After spending the required year-long stay in the Hope facility, Leena is told that because of the amount of new abilities she's acquired, she is now a target for a huge terrorist organization and is being placed permanently into protective custody. After she arrives at her new home, a compound hidden deep inside of a mountain, she struggles to adjust to re-starting her life with multiple new abilities that she has yet to gain control over.

Bear is the Captain in charge of the elite team that has been charged with keeping Leena safe and out of the hands of the terrorists. He soon finds himself craving the one person in the compound that he can't become involved with. The one person he can't seem to get out of his thoughts. Bear struggles to separate his growing feelings towards Leena in order to do his job effectively, to keep her safe. That is until Leena gives him a not so subtle push.
