Following their defeat at the Battle of Hastings in 1066, the lands of Anglo/Saxon England was changed for all time, as the triumphant Normans advanced through the English shires, solidifying their rule over each town and village by evicting the English Lords and Thanes, replacing them with new Norman overlords.
Aelnoth Edricson was the second son of 'Wild Edric',and witnesses the death of his only brother and the loss of his fathers Longhall.
Like many other dispossessed Englishmen he is forced to seek his fortune abroad.
His adventures take the reader through the southern counties of England. Through Wales and Ireland where he gathers an army of English, Irish and Viking warriors, who invade England, only to suffer a crushing defeat at the battle of Exnoor.
