This book has been compiled according to the stipulations contained within the Curriculum and
Assessment Policy Statement for Further Education and Training for Agricultural Management Practices.
The aim of the book is to make all the generic aspects of the Grade 12 Agricultural Management
Practices curriculum available to all secondary schools that offer the subject. It will also enable examiners
across the country to compile a uniform examination.
Furthermore, this book aims to give learners an overview of farming on an existing or new property and
enables learners to examine all possible options relating to the economic principles, production, processing
and marketing of a product.
In order to complete the Practical Assessment Task (PAT), the teacher needs to supplement the
information relating to specific agricultural branches, as schools are located in different production
(ecological) areas of South Africa.
Every teacher and learner should benefit from this publication in preparation for the Grade 12 National
Senior Certificate examination.
