Tranquility = success

As you think, so shall you become.

James Allen was one of the first to recognize this timeless fact.

The influence of Buddhism on Allen's thought is obvious in the emphasis on 'right thinking', but is also apparent in his suggestion that the best path to success is calmness of mind.

People who are calm, relaxed and purposeful appear to look like that is their natural state; but nearly always it is the fruit of self-control.

According to Allen, they have a magnet-like attraction because they are not swept up by every little wind of happenstance. We turn to them because they are masters of themselves. 'Tempest-tossed' souls battle to get success, but success avoids the unstable.

Purity of mind leads inevitably to purity of life, to the precious love and understanding that should control our everyday acts and attitudes towards friends and foes.

But where must one look for guidance? How does one achieve purity of mind that alone brings happiness and confidence?

The author offers his clear answers in this book As A Man Thinketh.

His words have helped millions for more than a centuryand continue to point the true way to a better life for a troubled humanity.

"Out of a clean heart comes a clean life and a clean body," James Allen writes. "Out of a defiled mind proceeds a defiled life and a corrupt body."

Too many mortals strive to improve only their wordly position.

Too few seek spiritual betterment.

JAMES ALLEN (18641912) was a British writer known for his inspirational books and poetry and as a pioneer of the self-help movement. His best-known work, As a Man Thinketh, has been a source of inspiration to numerous self-help authors like Tony Robbins and Wayne Dyer and has not been out of print since its publication in 1903.
