BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE

This is no ordinary case for T. J. McCall. Her client, Joanne, a reclusive heiress, with a slim hold on reality, is not who she said she is, and nothing about the case makes sense. The first husband, Michael, went missing nine years ago. The second husband, David, is Michael's brother. Joanne's New York powerful attorney, is protective of her, and thwarts T. J.s investigation at every turn. No small thing, since Joanne is the prime suspect for David's disappearance. The investigation leads to England where Joanne attended school, and after a self-abusive incident there, she is placed in a stateside sanitarium for three years.

Things get murky until she married Michael, and then he disappeared, presumed drowned, though no body was found. David, it turns out, is a fugitive gunrunner and not the saint Joanne pictured him to be.

Question is; why would someone running from the law get involved with someone as high profile as Joanne? In the end, David's so called disappearance, has no motive, makes no sense, and an outcome that shocks everyone...everyone except her attorney who was the only one in on the truth.
