Pride Month celebrations are under way in the small college town of North Harbor, but Patrick Mills couldn't be more unsympathetic as the festive crowds cause traffic jams. A difference of opinion about the special treatment of the queer community leads to his girlfriend, Maddie, cancelling their dinner date.
He doesn't understand it. How come LGBTQ+ people get a whole month of recognition?
Back at his dormitory, there's bad news: the sex-changing virus, FAP-19, has been detected on campus. Protocols are put in place to prevent the spread, but it's already too late. A week later, Patrick's body is filling out his clothes a lot differently. With his manhood gone, Patrick is forced down a road of discovery about womanhood and same-sex relationships, learning about acceptance from Maddie's lesbian older sister, and dealing with the hateful opinions of his Evangelical father.
Pride, he finds out, is about more than just parades.
