Betrayed: for love is a novel which combines both romance and stories about South Sudanese struggle for self-reliance. It exposes oppression South Sudanese faced yet all this is narrated in a single family life history. Julius falls in love with Charity at school. Charity leaves him as she goes to the US. She sponsors his education and gets married to another man. Julius marries an Ethiopian which forces Charity to come to South Sudan. Charity struggles for her man but ends up thunder struck.
