Blaze Lane is possibly the most clueless but lovable CIA agent ever, and yet always seems to get results through a combination of her unconventional style and sheer luck. Still undergoing training, most recently to learn escape techniques from the famous escape artist Stella Walters (and perhaps learn some more pleasurable though less important techniques both women have a particular interest in many and varied physical pleasures), Blaze's latest mission is no more complicated than travelling to London to interview a Chinese spy held by British Intelligence who have so far completely failed to obtain any useful information.
Blaze, of course, extracts what she needs to know by methods that even the most experienced agent would not have considered, and is determined to follow up on the new information she has obtained. Conveniently ignoring the CIA rules about not operating within the USA, Blaze and her partner return to investigate a ranch where it may well be that international secrets are exchanged. Blaze being Blaze, it is not that simple and, of course, it all goes horribly wrong. She has the opportunity to make a single telephone call, but she has completely forgotten all the emergency CIA contact numbers. All she can remember is Stella's number, and manages to call it before she finds herself once again a prisoner with no hope of escape. Perhaps Stella will manage to rescue her, or perhaps that will also go wrong
