Queen Medb rules the kingdom of Connacht. Her husband Ainle (who helped Deirdre and her brother escape from the castle of the lake) is her right-hand man and fearless warlord. After many adventures, the brothers settled in Connacht. Ainle proved to be a fearless warrior. And Queen Medb noticed him and made the young man her lover.
Ambitious Medb dreams of conquering the fertile lands of neighboring kingdoms. And the fearless Ainle intends to help her in this. Medb's troops invade the neighboring kingdom and plunder the lands of King Conchobar. Setanta enters his first battle and proves himself a brave warrior. Queen Medb orders her warriors to retreat.
Laird Fergus finds Setanta a worthy bride. This is Emer, the daughter of the ruler of Uisnech. On the way to Uisnech, the young man meets various mythical creatures, about which legends have been composed since ancient times. Setanta meets the bride at Uisnech. The girl captivates him with her beauty and intelligence.
During the celebration of the engagement, Setanta leaves the party hall and goes out into the fresh air. Soon he meets the god Lugh, because Lughnasadh, which the locals celebrated the day before, is dedicated to this god.
