Look inside the book:

"I was patient," Love said, "as you bade me be, and see," she cried as, hand in hand, they reached the quaint little cottage where Jan and his mother stood at the door to greet them, "in good time they both came to methe pink tulip, and my father." ...When the candle dipping was over and the precious candles were laid away to be burned only if the father and little Nathaniel came home, Hannah slipped six, as small as Christmas tree candles, from one rod and wrapped them carefully in a bit of fair white linen.
